SGS SABHA
activities - free scholarships |
Loan Scholarships: - The loan scholarship scheme continued till
1973. It was then noticed that keeping track
of the current address of the past
scholarship and pursuing the recoveries was
time consuming. Hence in 1973, the Sabha
decided to give free scholarships with no
liability for repaying. We are happy that
quite a few past scholars have, out of
gratitude, donated funds by way of free
scholarship endowments to enable the Sabha
to assist some more deserving students.
Free Scholarships - These scholarships are
given on merit-cum-means basis and students
from anywhere in the country are eligible to
apply for these if they meet the
merit-cum-means criteria. A sub-committee of
the Managing Committee scrutinizes all the
applications received. The quantum of
scholarships to be given to the various
courses of study as also the number of
scholarships to be given in a year are
decided by the Managing Committee.
